Day 15

Today with the weather being so nice, we decided to drive up to the "Billings Family Farm" in Woodstock Vermont. This a farm that has been in operation since 1805. It was first owned by the George Marsh Family from 1805 to 1869 when the Farm was purchased by Frederick Billings. The farm was owned by 3 generations of Billings'. In 1934, Fredericks granddaughter Mary French married Laurance Rockefeller (of the really rich Rockefeller family) and occupied the mansion up until 1997 when it was donated to the National Parks and then opened up to the public. It is still a working farm with about 550 acres.

This view is looking at the rear of the mansion.

This is looking at the opposite side of the house.

Here is their view from the rear porch.

Here is a very cute 2 day old calf in the nursery.

This is looking towards the open land of the farm and a few sheep.

This is the Farm Managers House. Must be nice as it is bigger than most rich peoples homes.

  1. I love all the pictures :) My desktop on my computer has never looked so good. Even though it was 80 degrees today here in Temecula, at least I can look at my desktop and be reminded it's Fall...somewhere :). I hope you guys are having fun. Love you!
